"BOXER'S LOW BLOW"

Rice appeared before the Senate in defense of President Bush's tactical change in Iraq, and quickly encountered Boxer.

"Who pays the price? I'm not going to pay a personal price," Boxer said. "My kids are too old, and my grandchild is too young."

Then, to Rice: "You're not going to pay a particular price, as I understand it, with an immediate family."

Breathtaking.

Simply breathtaking.

We scarcely know where to begin.

The junior senator from California ap parently believes that an accomplished, seasoned diplomat, a renowned scholar and an adviser to two presidents like Condoleezza Rice is not fully qualified to make policy at the highest levels of the American government because she is a single, childless woman.

It's hard to imagine the firestorm that similar comments would have ignited, coming from a Republican to a Democrat, or from a man to a woman, in the United States Senate. (Surely the Associated Press would have put the observation a bit higher than the 18th paragraph of a routine dispatch from Washington.)

My Comment ....
Well, She's Right!

Any Childless person will be much more apt to go to War without actually feelin the tugs on thier heartstring over the possible collateral damage don to children in other countries. Regardless of Condoleeza's qualifications, when to comes to the killing of other people for whatever reason in any context whatsoever, a childless peron will not have the perspective to consider tha actuall horror that War will bring. Having a child Man or Woman change the person at a spiritual level, and if it does not, then that person is undoubtably flawed.

The same with the overpriviliged classes who do not willingly send their children to War versus those who see the Military as a solution to their abject poverty.
Is GW willing to send his daughters to the front lines? I think not.

Not to mention that Condoleeza was handpicked by the Cheney regime to support their suspect policies in Iraq. She is yet but another hand puppet of the Cheney Doctrine.
